Saint Petersburg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Danila Hvorostovskiy was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pahom Krestyashin during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 32nd minute, but Roman Tulov got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Saint Petersburg hanging dry this time. If Oleg Alenichev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Yuriy Kornilov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Saint Petersburg's Roman Tulov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danila Hvorostovskiy in the 54th minute of play. If Timur Medvedev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sergiev Posad's Valeriy Lyutov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Sergiev Posad from getting a goal against them. In the 84th minute of the match, Oleg Alenichev got a very nice opportunity to score, but Valeriy Lyutov was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpected shot in the 86th minute by Oleg Alenichev got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Saveliy Yumachikov struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Valeriy Lyutov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Saint Petersburg. Oleg Alenichev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Despite being the better team, Saint Petersburg failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
