If Fedor Kalinin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nikolay Shmelev during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 6th match minute, Penza FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nikolay Shmelev to maneuver through the defense. If Ilya Yakovkin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ilya Yakovkin in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Artem Shtanyuk saved Grozny from getting behind. Andrey Alhimenko kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Artem Shtanyuk stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vasiliy Tsirik's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Maksim Kaloev charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maksim Kaloev the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 30thth minute of the game Ilya Yakovkin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grozny's Artem Shtanyuk was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 35th minute Maksim Kaloev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vasiliy Lukin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fedor Kalinin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Fedor Kalinin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fedor Kalinin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Ilya Yakovkin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Penza FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ilya Yakovkin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Penza FC's Vasiliy Tsirik got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Artem Shtanyuk didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ilya Yakovkin went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Grozny's attack was well implemented in the 71st minute, but when Fedor Kalinin was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Danila Klimentev hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. A collision led to Grozny getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Maksim Kaloev hit a great ball. 83 minutes into the match, Grozny's goalkeeper Artem Shtanyuk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ilya Yakovkin. If Vasiliy Tsirik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ilya Yakovkin came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Penza FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ilya Yakovkin couldn't finish the play. Ilya Yakovkin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artem Shtanyuk having to interfere.
