Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Anton Nikolaev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Georgiy Davydov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anton Nikolaev's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Georgiy Davydov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Vyacheslav Shapalov came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Kurgan's Vladimir Zuev. But to his dismay, Vladimir Zuev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 18th minute, Gennadiy Akopyan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vladikavkaz FC's Veniamin Bashmet got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Oleg Pecherin fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vladikavkaz FC's protests and gave Oleg Pecherin a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Kurgan booed when Vladikavkaz FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oleg Pecherin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Anton Nikolaev notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Kurgan's Georgiy Davydov. Georgiy Davydov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vyacheslav Shapalov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emmanuil Ivannikov in the 38th minute of play. If Emmanuil Ivannikov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vyacheslav Shapalov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emmanuil Ivannikov in the 47th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Vyacheslav Shapalov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yuriy Egorov, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. After 59 played minutes Kurgan got a freekick which was hit by Zinoviy Cheslavskiy. Georgiy Davydov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anton Nikolaev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aleksandr Smetannikov kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. A collision led to Vladikavkaz FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Veniamin Bashmet hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the match, Yuriy Egorov dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Vyacheslav Shapalov, 1-2. Georgiy Davydov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anton Nikolaev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the match, Anton Nikolaev had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Georgiy Davydov. Kurgan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anton Nikolaev was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. 86 minutes into the game, Vladikavkaz FC's Veniamin Bashmet nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Georgiy Davydov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Kurgan's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
