Cesar Godet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Mariano Ibañez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FERRARI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasco Olarticoechea didn't get a good kick on the ball. FERRARI's Cesar Godet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of play. Cesar Godet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mariano Ibañez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The FERRARI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cesar Godet should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Mariano Ibañez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. In the 78th minute FERRARI were awarded a corner. Serginho Maciel went to the cornerflag to take it. Cesar Godet made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 80th minute. Juan Sebastián Puig charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan Sebastián Puig the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. FERRARI were awarded a corner in the 92th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Serginho Maciel took the corner. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Cesar Godet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The FERRARI fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
