Novokuybyshevsk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yoshkar-Ola the free kick. In the 16th match minute, Novokuybyshevsk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lavrentiy Ivanko to maneuver through the defense. Eldar Frolov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruslan Moiseev in the 19th minute of play. Ruslan Moiseev's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eldar Frolov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Zinoviy Vorontsov hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Veniamin Pruzhinin was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 25th minute. Novokuybyshevsk's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Yoshkar-Ola's goalkeeper Eldar Frolov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Georgiy Pristavkin hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Maksim Riznichenko hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Vasiliy Meshkov struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Mark Mihailin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yoshkar-Ola. Osip Shepel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Mihailin having to interfere. Vasiliy Meshkov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Mark Mihailin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Vasiliy Meshkov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Osip Shepel made a kick off. Vasiliy Meshkov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Mark Mihailin made a huge save. Rudolf Petrushevskiy hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute, Osip Shepel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dmitriy Gatsura charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dmitriy Gatsura the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 63 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Novokuybyshevsk! 74 minutes into the match, Novokuybyshevsk's goal looked a bit too open when Osip Shepel came free, but Mark Mihailin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
