An unexpectedly hard shot by Varlam Papaev in the 3rd minute of play forced Almetyevsk FC's goalkeeper Polikarp Esenin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 4 played minutes Almetyevsk FC got a freekick which was hit by Lavrentiy Bodrov. Astrakhan FC's Pavel Nazarov couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 5th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Almetyevsk FC. Varlam Papaev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Polikarp Esenin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Varlam Papaev in the 12th minute of play. Polikarp Esenin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Varlam Papaev, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Aleksandr Kalashnikov succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 25th playminute. Polikarp Esenin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Varlam Papaev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 35 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Astrakhan FC! Aleksandr Kalashnikov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Georgiy Tatarchuk made a huge save.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stepan Shergin to make the kick off. Almetyevsk FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Varlam Papaev scored to the left of an out of position Polikarp Esenin, making the score, 2-1. Polikarp Esenin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Semen Fokin's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. When Semen Fokin came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Astrakhan FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Semen Fokin couldn't finish the play. Stepan Shergin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Varlam Papaev could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Polikarp Esenin made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Astrakhan FC's zone, Stepan Shergin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Georgiy Tatarchuk came out of the goal and Stepan Shergin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aleksandr Kalashnikov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stepan Shergin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 90 played minutes Astrakhan FC got a freekick which was hit by Igor Emelyanov. 93 minutes into the game, Almetyevsk FC's Aleksandr Kalashnikov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Georgiy Tatarchuk made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Almetyevsk FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Astrakhan FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
