Mark Larin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 16 minutes into the match, Kansk FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mark Larin came free, but Georgiy Ovchinnikov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Oleg Kozlov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timofey Konstantinov in the 25th minute of play forced Petrozavodsk's goalkeeper Mikhail Motyl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Kansk FC's Oleg Kozlov sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mikhail Motyl narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Arseniy Shiryaev came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Petrozavodsk fans jumped to their feet. Oleg Ponomarev's late challenge caught a Kansk FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oleg Ponomarev helped the player get up and apologised. In the 35th minute of the match, Timofey Konstantinov tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mikhail Motyl saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Arseniy Shiryaev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Petrozavodsk's Mark Larin in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kansk FC's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mark Larin in the 43rd minute of play forced Kansk FC's goalkeeper Georgiy Ovchinnikov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 44 minutes, Vitaliy Topchiy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kansk FC and the Petrozavodsk players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 44th match minute, Kansk FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vitaliy Topchiy to maneuver through the defense. If Timofey Konstantinov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Mark Larin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kansk FC's Georgiy Ovchinnikov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 64 played minutes Petrozavodsk got a freekick which was hit by Evgeniy Kiykov. 65 minutes into the match, Kansk FC's Evgeniy Antonov broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Evgeniy Kiykov during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Evgeniy Kiykov hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. If Mark Larin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oleg Kozlov kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Georgiy Ovchinnikov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pavel Nurmuhametov in the 91st minute of the match. Georgiy Ovchinnikov made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Arseniy Shiryaev sent off a good shot on target. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
