Ulan-Ude FC's Boris Stepanov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pavel Kalmetev in the 19th minute of play. Fedor Klychkov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valentin Meleschuk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fedor Klychkov in the 22nd minute of play forced Zhukovsky FC's goalkeeper Valentin Meleschuk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Boris Stepanov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentin Arshavin, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 31st minute, Porfiriy Saikin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marat Nikonov during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Zhukovsky FC's Marat Nikonov got a free kick in the 36th minute. After 38 minutes, Fedor Klychkov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ulan-Ude FC and the Zhukovsky FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Zhukovsky FC booed when Ulan-Ude FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fedor Klychkov didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 40 minutes of play, Zhukovsky FC's Pavel Kalmetev made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Boris Stepanov was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 42nd match minute, Zhukovsky FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marat Nikonov to maneuver through the defense. Fedor Klychkov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Zhukovsky FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Fedor Klychkov made the kick off in the second half. Evgeniy Topol scored 1-1 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valentin Meleschuk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Zhukovsky FC's zone, Fedor Klychkov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentin Meleschuk came out of the goal and Fedor Klychkov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valentin Arshavins short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Boris Stepanov to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 87 played minutes Ulan-Ude FC got a freekick which was hit by Aleksey Bilyaletdinov. 88 minutes into the match, Ulan-Ude FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pavel Kalmetev came free, but Boris Stepanov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 94 in the game by Valentin Arshavin from a close distance when the talented Boris Stepanov managed to make a qualified save. Ulan-Ude FC's players were relieved. If Valentin Arshavin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
