Anatoliy Bashilov might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stanislav Stepanchenok. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anatoliy Bashilov ran back to his position shaking his head. Anatoliy Bashilov was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 25th minute. Ulyanovsk FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. A hard shot by Vasiliy Zemtsov from long distance, 28 minutes into the match, got Stanislav Stepanchenok's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 35 minutes into the game, Evgeniy Babkov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pyatigorsk FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ulyanovsk FC the free kick. After 35 played minutes Pyatigorsk FC got a freekick which was hit by Evgeniy Babkov. In the 39th minute, Vsevolod Kulesh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Anatoliy Bashilov came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Ulyanovsk FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anatoliy Bashilov couldn't finish the play. 47 minutes into the game, Georgiy Melyutchev was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pyatigorsk FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ulyanovsk FC the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Pyatigorsk FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 47th minute. Penalty! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vladislav Lisov to strike the kick off in the second half. Vasiliy Zemtsov hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. If Vladislav Lisov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vladislav Lisov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Yaroslav Gdalevich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Ulyanovsk FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gerasim Bortko fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Stepan Krylov fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ulyanovsk FC's protests and gave Stepan Krylov a yellow card for diving instead. Stepan Krylov kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the match, Ulyanovsk FC's goalkeeper Yaroslav Gdalevich had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gerasim Bortko.
