A hard shot by Artem Shilov from long distance, 26 minutes into the match, got Albert Smagin's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chita FC's goalkeeper Albert Smagin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Georgiy Torshin hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Bronislav Pirmuhamedov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrey Nikolaev, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrey Nikolaev to make the kick off.
