After a defensive mix-up in Noginsk's zone, Denis Zheglov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mikhail Kimyagarov came out of the goal and Denis Zheglov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Roman Babarykin came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roman Babarykin couldn't finish the play. Matvey Tyshkovets sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Denis Zheglov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk's supporters rose to their feet, but Denis Zheglov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mikhail Kimyagarov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anton Baturin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Anton Baturin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Noginsk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anton Baturin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Denis Zheglov might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mikhail Kimyagarov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Denis Zheglov ran back to his position shaking his head. Denis Zheglovs short, quick shot in the 73rdth minute got Mikhail Kimyagarov to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Mikhail Kimyagarov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roman Babarykin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matvey Tyshkovets fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maksim Groshikov having to interfere. Anton Baturin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 88 minutes, Denis Zheglov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denis Zheglov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
