When Danil Gamsakhurdia fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Khabarovsk's protests and gave Danil Gamsakhurdia a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Khabarovsk getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Danil Gamsakhurdia hit a great ball. Khabarovsk's Vladimir Ryzhanov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oleg Borkov in the 14th minute of play. In the 16th minute Stanislav Vitkin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valeriy Scherbakov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Danil Galkin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Stanislav Vitkin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Khabarovsk's supporters rose to their feet, but Stanislav Vitkin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valeriy Scherbakov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Kovrov getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Aleksandr Pavlov hit a great ball. Khabarovsk's Danil Galkin got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valeriy Scherbakov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stanislav Vitkin in the 31st minute of the match. The supporters of Khabarovsk booed when Kovrov was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aleksandr Pavlov didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 35 played minutes Kovrov got a freekick which was hit by Ilya Groholskiy. In the 40th minute, Gleb Efimov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kovrov's Valeriy Scherbakov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Igor Voroshilov in the 41st minute of play. After 48 minutes, Aleksandr Pavlov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kovrov and the Khabarovsk players grew even worse after the yellow card. Aleksandr Pavlov kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. After 49 played minutes, Khabarovsk's Igor Voroshilov shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Valeriy Scherbakov came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Khabarovsk reached it.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oleg Borkov was the one to do the kick off. When Ilya Groholskiy was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 53 minutes had been played. Ilya Groholskiy kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Stanislav Vitkin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valeriy Scherbakov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Stanislav Vitkin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Valeriy Scherbakov when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Aleksandr Pavlov hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Kovrov:s Valeriy Scherbakov showed great skill when he stopped Igor Voroshilov:s penalty. In the 71st minute of the match Igor Voroshilov shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valeriy Scherbakov showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Oleg Borkov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Vladimir Ryzhanov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Kovrov booed when Khabarovsk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nikolay Kozlyaninov didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 80 played minutes Khabarovsk got a freekick which was hit by Stanislav Vitkin. German Kartashev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vladimir Ryzhanov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from German Kartashev in the 98th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Khabarovsk had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
