Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Naberezhnye Chelny's Svyatoslav Mezinov started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Khasavyurt FC's zone, Svyatoslav Mezinov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valeriy Ershov came out of the goal and Svyatoslav Mezinov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonid Klychkov in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valeriy Ershov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Svyatoslav Mezinov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonid Klychkov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Leonid Klychkov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Naberezhnye Chelny's Svyatoslav Mezinov got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 17 played minutes Khasavyurt FC got a freekick which was hit by Aleksey Puzyrev. Igor Gurenko came out of the goal and Boris Suhanov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ivan Zavyalov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ivan Zavyalov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Igor Gurenko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boris Suhanov in the 29th minute of the match. Igor Gurenko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boris Suhanov in the 34th minute of play. With a little luck, Naberezhnye Chelny's Igor Gurenko got control of the ball when Ivan Zavyalov tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Khasavyurt FC booed when Naberezhnye Chelny was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evgeniy Rozanov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leonid Klychkov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Svyatoslav Mezinov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Naberezhnye Chelny's supporters rose to their feet, but Svyatoslav Mezinov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valeriy Ershov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Boris Suhanov to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boris Suhanov in the 54th minute of play forced Naberezhnye Chelny's goalkeeper Igor Gurenko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Igor Gurenko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Zavyalov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 68 played minutes Naberezhnye Chelny got a freekick which was hit by Oleg Lagunov. In the 69th minute of the match Kirill Zuev shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Igor Gurenko showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Irakliy Sergeev charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
