The goalkeeper, Georgiy Vishnyakov, was totally fooled by Khasavyurt FC's Kirill Zuev, who 6 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After 8 minutes, Irakliy Sergeev mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Khasavyurt FC and the Kursk players grew even worse after the yellow card. Irakliy Sergeev hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Gleb Shtolz struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Valeriy Ershov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kursk. In the 16th minute, Khasavyurt FC's Irakliy Sergeev ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Georgiy Vishnyakov. Georgiy Vishnyakov yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. After 20 minutes of play Kursk's Vladislav Vitovtov was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Kursk's Vladislav Vitovtov got a free kick in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boris Suhanov in the 27th minute of play forced Kursk's goalkeeper Georgiy Vishnyakov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rostislav Shilyaev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Aleksey Puzyrev fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Khasavyurt FC's protests and gave Aleksey Puzyrev a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Kursk booed when Khasavyurt FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aleksey Puzyrev didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gleb Shtolz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th minute, Gleb Shtolz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kursk fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gleb Shtolz was the one to do the kick off. In the 54thth minute of the game Ivan Zavyalov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kursk's Georgiy Vishnyakov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Khasavyurt FC's goalkeeper Valeriy Ershov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ivan Zavyalov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Georgiy Vishnyakov having to interfere. Khasavyurt FC's Ivan Zavyalov got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valeriy Ershov made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gleb Shtolz in the 73rd minute. Gerasim Orbeli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Valeriy Ershov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Rostislav Shilyaev managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kursk's supporters rose to their feet, but Rostislav Shilyaev was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valeriy Ershov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 82 minutes into the game, one of Khasavyurt FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gleb Shtolz got free with Valeriy Ershov in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Kursk's Rostislav Shilyaev got a free kick in the 96th minute.
