Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Kovrov's Viktor Zamyatin started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Efim Belyankin during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Efim Belyankin hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Viktor Zamyatin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stepan Kulov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. When Arseniy Bagachev came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Ulyanovsk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arseniy Bagachev couldn't finish the play. Aleksandr Kabulakhin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arseniy Bagachev in the 7th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arseniy Bagachev in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aleksandr Kabulakhin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Pavel Avdoshin fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kovrov's protests and gave Pavel Avdoshin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th match minute, Kovrov was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pavel Avdoshin to maneuver through the defense. Albert Mironov's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Stepan Kulov skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ulyanovsk's Stepan Kulov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Ulyanovsk from getting a goal against them. Albert Mironov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stepan Kulov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. If Georgiy Kostyuchenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 33 minutes, Georgiy Kostyuchenko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ulyanovsk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Georgiy Kostyuchenko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Georgiy Kostyuchenko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Kovrov's zone, Georgiy Kostyuchenko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aleksandr Kabulakhin came out of the goal and Georgiy Kostyuchenko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Georgiy Kostyuchenko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Kovrov booed when Ulyanovsk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evsey Tsiklinskiy didn't get a good kick on the ball. German Kapustin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleksandr Kabulakhin having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
Arseniy Bagachev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 56 played minutes Ulyanovsk got a freekick which was hit by Efim Belyankin. Georgiy Kostyuchenko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Aleksandr Kabulakhin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Georgiy Kostyuchenko was extremely unlucky when he, in the 64th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 66 minutes into the match, Ulyanovsk's goal looked a bit too open when Viktor Zamyatin came free, but Stepan Kulov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Kovrov's Albert Mironov in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ulyanovsk's goalie prevented a goal. In the 71stth minute of the game Arseniy Bagachev who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kovrov's Aleksandr Kabulakhin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Aleksandr Kabulakhin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arseniy Bagachev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Albert Mironov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stepan Kulov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Albert Mironov's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. After 84 minutes, Adrian Eremin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ulyanovsk and the Kovrov players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Viktor Zamyatin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th match minute, Kovrov was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albert Mironov to maneuver through the defense. If Viktor Zamyatin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albert Mironov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
