An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladislav Sharmanov in the 13th minute of play forced Saransk FC's goalkeeper Aleksey Shipin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saransk FC's Aleksey Shipin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladislav Sharmanov in the 16th minute of play. The supporters of Nakhodka HC booed when Saransk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Veniamin Mishkorudnikov didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Nakhodka HC's goalkeeper Mikhail Demin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Nakhodka HC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Stepan Kulikov hit a great ball. In the 24th minute Roman Bragin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikhail Demin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Vladislav Sharmanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vladislav Sharmanov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Aleksey Shipin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pavel Kasyanov during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vladislav Sharmanov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nakhodka HC's goalkeeper Mikhail Demin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Nakhodka HC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Stepan Kulikov hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Saransk FC defense, Nikolay Zvezdin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aleksey Shipin. The Saransk FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aleksey Shipin should have stopped the shot. Nikolay Zvezdin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Aleksey Shipin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Saransk FC's zone, Vladislav Sharmanov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aleksey Shipin came out of the goal and Vladislav Sharmanov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Nakhodka HC's Boris Shutanov got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Roman Bragin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roman Bragin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 78thth minute tested the skills of Mikhail Demin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Nakhodka HC's zone, Pavel Kasyanov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mikhail Demin came out of the goal and Pavel Kasyanov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vladislav Sharmanov might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aleksey Shipin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vladislav Sharmanov ran back to his position shaking his head. After 85 played minutes Saransk FC got a freekick which was hit by Valeriy Matyushenko. When Nakhodka HC's Vladislav Sharmanov in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Saransk FC's goalie prevented a goal. Nikolay Zvezdin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 92 minutes of play Saransk FC's Pavel Kasyanov was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Pavel Kasyanov hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Aleksey Shipin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vladislav Sharmanov in the 96th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Saransk FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Nakhodka HC.
