Sergey Konstantinov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrey Lazarev having to interfere. Ivan Vekshin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniil Ivashkovskiy went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Ivan Vekshin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniil Ivashkovskiy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivan Vekshin came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Kazan FC's Daniil Ivashkovskiy. But to his dismay, Daniil Ivashkovskiy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Pavel Dovbnya kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 26th minute of the match, Emmanuil Legostaev tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Andrey Lazarev saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 27 played minutes Kazan FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonid Bokonbaev. If Emmanuil Legostaev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th match minute, Kazan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Shafarevich to maneuver through the defense. Emmanuil Legostaev struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Andrey Lazarev didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Smolensk. If Daniil Ivashkovskiy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emmanuil Legostaev stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Kazan FC's zone, Sergey Konstantinov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrey Lazarev came out of the goal and Sergey Konstantinov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 55 minutes Kazan FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Veniamin Agranovskiy who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Smolensk's Veniamin Agranovskiy to fire away a dangerous shot which Andrey Lazarev despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Sergey Konstantinov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Smolensk's supporters rose to their feet, but Sergey Konstantinov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andrey Lazarev breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leonid Bokonbaev blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ivan Vekshin having to make a save. Ivan Vekshin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniil Ivashkovskiy in the 63rd minute of the match. Andrey Lazarev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergey Konstantinov, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. If Daniil Ivashkovskiy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ivan Vekshin made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Leonid Bokonbaev sent off a good shot on target. If Leonid Bokonbaev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Smolensk booed when Kazan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viktor Polyakov didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Kazan FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sergey Konstantinov came free, but Andrey Lazarev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniil Ivashkovskiy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Ivan Vekshin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emmanuil Legostaev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Kazan FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
