The audience thought a goal was coming when Arkadiy Makarov got free with Konstantin Bashirov in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 10th minute, Stanislav Zurabov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 11th minute of the match Kir Chernyavskiy sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Viktor Bachev skillfully saved the ball. Vitaliy Timaschuk hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Petr Kalinin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Viktor Bachev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Petr Kalinin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 27 minutes into the match, Almetyevsk's Petr Kalinin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Viktor Bachev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Petr Kalinin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Tobolsk getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Stanislav Zurabov hit a great ball. Viktor Bachev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petr Kalinin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fedor Gurov kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The Tobolsk players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Almetyevsk were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emmanuil Kozlov was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Tobolsk's goalkeeper Viktor Bachev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Petr Kalinin. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anatoliy Lagutenko in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Konstantin Bashirov saved Almetyevsk from getting behind. When Gleb Protoklitov fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Almetyevsk's protests and gave Gleb Protoklitov a yellow card for diving instead. Anatoliy Lagutenko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Konstantin Bashirov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Tobolsk booed when Almetyevsk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitaliy Timaschuk didn't get a good kick on the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Almetyevsk's goal looked a bit too open when Arkadiy Makarov came free, but Konstantin Bashirov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gleb Protoklitov was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 63 minutes had been played. Gleb Protoklitov hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Anatoliy Lagutenko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Konstantin Bashirov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arkadiy Makarov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Konstantin Bashirov having to interfere. When Anatoliy Lagutenko came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Tobolsk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anatoliy Lagutenko couldn't finish the play. Artur Hvostovskiy's late challenge caught a Almetyevsk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Artur Hvostovskiy helped the player get up and apologised. Artur Hvostovskiy kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. With a little luck, Tobolsk's Viktor Bachev got control of the ball when Petr Kalinin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arkadiy Makarov took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Konstantin Bashirov. Konstantin Bashirov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 89 minutes into the game, Petr Kalinin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Viktor Bachev was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The long shot by Igor Borisov in the 94th minute really tested Viktor Bachev's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Konstantin Bashirov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arkadiy Makarov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Almetyevsk supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Almetyevsk would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
