But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valentin Ananov couldn't finish the play. Grozny's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniil Shumilov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Guriy Tyulpanov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniil Shumilov in the 38th minute of play forced Grozny's goalkeeper Vladimir Ilyin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniil Shumilov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Vladimir Ilyin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guriy Tyulpanov, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Irkutsk's zone, Dmitriy Chernozemov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nikolay Sazonov came out of the goal and Dmitriy Chernozemov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rasul Baburin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nikolay Sazonov having to interfere. Valentin Ananov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th minute, Valentin Ananov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nikolay Sazonov was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Grozny's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
