Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Igor Pokalyakin started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Filipp Strizhko during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 5 played minutes Syktyvkar FC got a freekick which was hit by Filipp Strizhko. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Igor Pokalyakin in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Daniil Zobov saved Syktyvkar FC from getting behind. Askold Zubinskiy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Eldar Nedachin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Askold Zubinskiy in the 17th minute of the match. Eldar Nedachin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Georgiy Drozd in the 18th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk's Rostislav Eroschenko got a free kick in the 23rd minute. When Timur Chizhov fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk's protests and gave Timur Chizhov a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Syktyvkar FC booed when Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timur Chizhov didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the game, Rostislav Eroschenko was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Syktyvkar FC the free kick. If Georgiy Drozd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eldar Nedachin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Askold Zubinskiy in the 36th minute of the match. In the 37th match minute, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Osokin to maneuver through the defense. Igor Pokalyakin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Daniil Zobov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Igor Pokalyakin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marat Polivanov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Daniil Zobov made a huge save. In the 47th minute, Georgiy Drozd got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Askold Zubinskiy was the one to do the kick off. Syktyvkar FC's Daniil Zobov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stanislav Miheev in the 55th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Igor Pokalyakin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 60 minutes into the game, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk's Marat Polivanov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Daniil Zobov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Daniil Zobov came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk's Marat Polivanov. But to his dismay, Marat Polivanov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After 68 played minutes, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk's Rostislav Eroschenko shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Daniil Zobov came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk reached it. 71 minutes into the match, Syktyvkar FC's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Pokalyakin came free, but Daniil Zobov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Askold Zubinskiy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Georgiy Drozd came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Syktyvkar FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Georgiy Drozd couldn't finish the play. Eldar Nedachin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Askold Zubinskiy in the 86th minute of play. Askold Zubinskiy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eldar Nedachin having to interfere. Syktyvkar FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
