Eldar Nedachin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladislav Nidergaus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eldar Nedachin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vladislav Nidergaus in the 22nd minute of the match. If Vladislav Nidergaus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Igor Pokalyakin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilya Babichenko having to interfere. Gordey Zaiyulev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eldar Nedachin having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Igor Pokalyakin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gordey Zaiyulev's late challenge caught a Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gordey Zaiyulev helped the player get up and apologised. In the 35th match minute, Balakovo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gordey Zaiyulev to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk's Igor Pokalyakin ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ilya Babichenko. Ilya Babichenko yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After 43 played minutes Balakovo got a freekick which was hit by Afanasiy Maksimov. 45 minutes into the match, Igor Pokalyakin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ilya Babichenko, 2-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anton Filimonenkov to strike the kick off in the second half. Ilya Babichenko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marat Polivanov, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Igor Pokalyakin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk's supporters rose to their feet, but Igor Pokalyakin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ilya Babichenko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 54 minutes of play Balakovo's Andron Komissarov was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Andron Komissarov kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Valter Gludin hit a great ball. Marat Polivanov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vladislav Nidergaus got free with Eldar Nedachin in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 84th match minute, Balakovo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valter Gludin to maneuver through the defense. Vladislav Nidergaus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Balakovo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
