German Dzerzhkovich's late challenge caught a Sterlitamak FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. German Dzerzhkovich helped the player get up and apologised. German Dzerzhkovich kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Evgeniy Boyarov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Platon Kazarov in the 5th minute of play. In the 7th minute, German Dzerzhkovich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sochi HC's Evgeniy Boyarov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Veniamin Ohotskiy in the 8th minute of play. Guriy Zabegalin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vadim Shutov having to make a save. After having played for 14 minutes, Feoktist Churmanteev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sochi HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Feoktist Churmanteev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 18 minutes into the game, Veniamin Ohotskiy cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Evgeniy Boyarov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Platon Kazarov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Sochi HC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Panteleimon Margasov hit a great ball. After having played for 32 minutes, Veniamin Ohotskiy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sterlitamak FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Veniamin Ohotskiy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Feoktist Churmanteev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guriy Zabegalin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vadim Shutov having to make a save. When Platon Kazarov came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Sterlitamak FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Platon Kazarov couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Sterlitamak FC's zone, Guriy Zabegalin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vadim Shutov came out of the goal and Guriy Zabegalin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 47th minute, Stanislav Makharov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Veniamin Ohotskiy to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Sochi HC got a freekick which was hit by Arseniy Stepanov. Sterlitamak FC's Vadim Shutov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guriy Zabegalin in the 55th minute of play. Stanislav Makharov hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Guriy Zabegalin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Vadim Shutov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vadim Shutov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guriy Zabegalin, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Sochi HC's Evgeniy Boyarov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Sochi HC from getting a goal against them. When the match clock showed 92 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Platon Kazarov sped through Sochi HC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Evgeniy Boyarov. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Sterlitamak FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
