With his leg Oleg Zhutov managed to avoid a goal in the 6thth minute, when Voronezh HC's Fedor Artakov fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Mark Shvedov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oleg Lihachev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fedor Artakov got free with Oleg Zhutov in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 11 minutes, Fedor Artakov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Voronezh HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fedor Artakov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yuriy Dorofeev hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Mark Shvedov came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Kopeysk FC's Oleg Lihachev. But to his dismay, Oleg Lihachev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Oleg Lihachev managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kopeysk FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Oleg Lihachev was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mark Shvedov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kopeysk FC's Oleg Zhutov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lavrentiy Shloma in the 24th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Voronezh HC's goal looked a bit too open when Nikita Sychev came free, but Mark Shvedov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute Lavrentiy Shloma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oleg Zhutov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Lavrentiy Shloma dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Oleg Zhutov, 1-1. Oleg Lihachev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Kopeysk FC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Nikita Sychev hit a great ball. Mikhail Makarichev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Oleg Zhutov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kopeysk FC's Oleg Zhutov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Kopeysk FC from getting a goal against them. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lavrentiy Shloma made a kick off. Kopeysk FC's Oleg Zhutov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fedor Artakov in the 52nd minute of play. After 53 minutes, Yuriy Dorofeev mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kopeysk FC and the Voronezh HC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 53rd match minute, Kopeysk FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yuriy Dorofeev to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th match minute, Voronezh HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Varlam Savin to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Kopeysk FC booed when Voronezh HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Varlam Savin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Kopeysk FC's Artur Grudistov tried to score from far away in the 61st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Voronezh HC's Mark Shvedov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oleg Lihachev in the 64th minute of play. In the 66th minute, Voldemar Stasyuk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mark Shvedov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oleg Lihachev in the 67th minute of play. After 71 played minutes, Voronezh HC's Igor Kapustin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Oleg Zhutov came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Voronezh HC reached it. After 73 minutes of play, Voronezh HC's Fedor Artakov made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oleg Zhutov was left in no man's land by his defense there! Oleg Lihachev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Voronezh HC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Igor Kapustin hit a great ball. 94 minutes in the game, Nikita Sychev dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Voronezh HC had won after a very even match.
