After some careless play in the Kurgan FC defense, Innokentiy Yakunin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gerasim Scherbakov. The Kurgan FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gerasim Scherbakov should have stopped the shot. Viktor Dubovoy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stepan Inzhutov having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Kurgan FC's zone, Denis Belyavskiy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerasim Scherbakov came out of the goal and Denis Belyavskiy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vyacheslav Kryukov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Kirov booed when Kurgan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aleksandr Ugolkov didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Kirov's Nikolay Soloviev tried to score from far away in the 23rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Innokentiy Yakunin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerasim Scherbakov having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Kirov's Mark Monomakhov got a free kick in the 27th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Viktor Dubovoy got free with Stepan Inzhutov in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Innokentiy Yakunin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kirov's supporters rose to their feet, but Innokentiy Yakunin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerasim Scherbakov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Innokentiy Yakunin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Denis Belyavskiy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kurgan FC's Gerasim Scherbakov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svyatoslav Lyadov in the 71st minute of play. Denis Belyavskiy received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kurgan FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kirov the free kick. Filipp Vazyulin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Vyacheslav Kryukov notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Kirov's Stepan Inzhutov. Stepan Inzhutov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Kirov eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
