The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Chita booed when Novosibirsk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aleksey Kulaevskiy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Evgeniy Yunk made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Zinoviy Konisskiy sent off a good shot on target. Grigoriy Pakhomov took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Evgeniy Yunk. Evgeniy Yunk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Aleksey Kulaevskiy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Evgeniy Yunk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Aleksey Kulaevskiy came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Novosibirsk FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aleksey Kulaevskiy couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Chita's zone, Aleksey Kulaevskiy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evgeniy Yunk came out of the goal and Aleksey Kulaevskiy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Novosibirsk FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
