When Artem Karnouhov fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arkhangelsk FC's protests and gave Artem Karnouhov a yellow card for diving instead. Timur Novomlintsev stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Timofey Rogov's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Stanislav Karakhozhin was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 22 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Arkhangelsk FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 22nd minute. Penalty! Eduard Komarov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Timur Novomlintsev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. If Eduard Komarov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eduard Komarov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vadim Gorbachev in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dmitriy Zimin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Arkhangelsk FC's Dmitriy Zimin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentin Epishkin in the 56th minute of play. Eduard Komarov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Timur Novomlintsev made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Eduard Komarov sent off a good shot on target. Vladimir Panfilov charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. With a little luck, Cheboksary's Timur Novomlintsev got control of the ball when Eduard Komarov tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Vadim Gorbachev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arkhangelsk FC's Dmitriy Zimin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentin Epishkin in the 91st minute of play. In the 92ndth minute of the game Valentin Epishkin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Arkhangelsk FC's Dmitriy Zimin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dmitriy Zimin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentin Epishkin, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Vadim Gorbachev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dmitriy Zimin having to interfere.
