Dmitriy Demyanskiy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Izhevsk FC. Sergey Kalashnikov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arkadiy Kovezin having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Aleksandr Vernik managed to get in a good position for a shot. Berezniki's supporters rose to their feet, but Aleksandr Vernik was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arkadiy Kovezin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 27th minute, Berezniki's Sergey Kalashnikov dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Aleksey Maslyannikov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Dmitriy Demyanskiy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sergey Kalnitskiy to strike the kick off in the second half. Mark Nedorezkov struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Arkadiy Kovezin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aleksandr Vernik in the 62nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Sergey Kalashnikov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arkadiy Kovezin was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Aleksandr Vernik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arkadiy Kovezin having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sergey Kalashnikov in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arkadiy Kovezin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 70th minute, Sergey Kalashnikov left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Berezniki fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Sergey Kalashnikov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Arkadiy Kovezin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sergey Kalashnikov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arkadiy Kovezin having to make a save. Nikita Zapivain's late challenge caught a Izhevsk FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nikita Zapivain helped the player get up and apologised. The referee gave Izhevsk FC a penalty, 85 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Andrey Ionov, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Berezniki's Dmitriy Demyanskiy. 2-1. When Aleksey Maslyannikov came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Izhevsk FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aleksey Maslyannikov couldn't finish the play. Izhevsk FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
