Mikhail Zhdanov was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Mikhail Godein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladimir Velikanov in the 9th minute of play. Valentin Radchenko succeeded in the game's 15th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladimir Velikanov in the 23rd minute of play forced Shahty's goalkeeper Mikhail Godein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vadim Ramzin struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Mikhail Zhdanov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shahty. In the 31st minute, Valentin Radchenko made a precise shot to the right of Mikhail Zhdanov. Artem FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. When Vadim Ramzin came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Shahty fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vadim Ramzin couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Artem FC's zone, Vadim Ramzin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mikhail Zhdanov came out of the goal and Vadim Ramzin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Valentin Radchenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shahty's Vadim Ramzin got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Shahty were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valentin Radchenko to make the kick off. Vadim Ramzin struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Mikhail Zhdanov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shahty. After a rather tough play, Artem FC's Irakliy Abakshin got a free kick in the 57th minute. Shahty's Ivan Zenzinov couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 58th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Artem FC. Vadim Ramzin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mikhail Zhdanov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Daniil Bunzhukov kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 64th minute Evgeniy Gorbachev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikhail Godein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vladimir Velikanov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Artem FC's Vladimir Velikanov in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Shahty's goalie prevented a goal. Evgeniy Gorbachev blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mikhail Godein having to make a save. When Vadim Ramzin came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Shahty fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vadim Ramzin couldn't finish the play. Evgeniy Gorbachev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mikhail Godein having to interfere. If Vladimir Velikanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Artem FC's Daniil Bunzhukov got a free kick in the 82nd minute. If Valentin Radchenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Evgeniy Gorbachev came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Artem FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evgeniy Gorbachev couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle sounded Shahty left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Artem FC.
