The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arseniy Chebanenko showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Vadim Vasiliev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Konstantin Nekrasov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Alekseev's late challenge caught a Krasnoyarsk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felix Alekseev helped the player get up and apologised. Krasnoyarsk's Vadim Vasiliev got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vadim Vasiliev made a kick off. Vladimir Potopchin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arseniy Chebanenko having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Vadim Vasiliev got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Krasnoyarsk would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
