The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Andrey Postnikov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 6 minutes into the match, Novokuybyshevsk FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ilya Kryukov came free, but Eduard Haziakhmetov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Petr Utekhin sped through Murom FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pavel Dolgih. After having played for 13 minutes, Andrey Postnikov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Murom FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andrey Postnikov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 14 minutes, Pavel Haidurov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Novokuybyshevsk FC and the Murom FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 14th minute, Pavel Haidurov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpected shot in the 17th minute by Grigoriy Yashvil got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After having played for 21 minutes, Petr Utekhin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Novokuybyshevsk FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Petr Utekhin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Grigoriy Yashvil in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pavel Dolgih saved Murom FC from getting behind. Andrey Postnikov struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Eduard Haziakhmetov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Murom FC. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Novokuybyshevsk FC's goalkeeper Eduard Haziakhmetov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ilya Kryukov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eduard Haziakhmetov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrey Postnikov in the 37th minute of the match. Andrey Postnikov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduard Haziakhmetov having to interfere.

The wind increased when Grigoriy Yashvil made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Novokuybyshevsk FC's zone, Ilya Kryukov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eduard Haziakhmetov came out of the goal and Ilya Kryukov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Grigoriy Yashvil struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Pavel Dolgih didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Novokuybyshevsk FC. In the 60th minute, Novokuybyshevsk FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ilya Kryukov fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Novokuybyshevsk FC's Eduard Haziakhmetov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Novokuybyshevsk FC from getting a goal against them. Pavel Dolgih made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grigoriy Yashvil in the 64th minute of play. Georgiy Belov charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Georgiy Belov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Georgiy Belov hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Timofey Afanasev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Novokuybyshevsk FC's Eduard Haziakhmetov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrey Postnikov in the 79th minute of play. Eduard Haziakhmetov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andrey Postnikov's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Arkadiy Efremov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Eduard Haziakhmetov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute Andrey Postnikov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduard Haziakhmetov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Novokuybyshevsk FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
