Daniil Shamshev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Roman Sorokin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Kaliningrad FC's Sergey Alferov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roman Sorokin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Roman Sorokin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergey Alferov, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Kaliningrad FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Vissarion Petuhov scored to the left of an out of position Veniamin Sitnikov, making the score, 1-1. Sergey Alferov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roman Sorokin having to interfere. Zinoviy Pospelov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vissarion Petuhov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sergey Alferov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roman Sorokin having to make a save. In the 41st minute Daniil Shamshev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Sorokin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Sergey Alferov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 49 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Korolev! Roman Sorokin had in the 51stth minute some difficulties stopping Yuriy Alferov's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 51 minutes into the match, Yuriy Alferov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roman Sorokin. Korolev's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Yuriy Alferov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After the first half Kaliningrad FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

An unexpected shot in the 69th minute by Daniil Shamshev got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Vissarion Petuhov came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Korolev fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vissarion Petuhov couldn't finish the play. Roman Sorokin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergey Alferov in the 80th minute of the match. Roman Sorokin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergey Alferov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute, Filipp Nizovkin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Sergey Alferov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Korolev booed when Kaliningrad FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. The Kaliningrad FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
