Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Kyzyl's Modest Mironov started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, Leontiy Isekeev was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Volgograd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kyzyl the free kick. In the 2nd minute, Leontiy Isekeev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ilya Hozyainov got free with Timofey Borikov in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Volgograd's Timofey Borikov got control of the ball when Timur Vasyutskiy tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Volgograd booed when Kyzyl was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lev Abramchikov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rudolf Novikov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kliment Izmailov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yuriy Lokotchenko in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rudolf Novikov saved Kyzyl from getting behind. 16 minutes into the match, Kyzyl's goal looked a bit too open when Kliment Izmailov came free, but Rudolf Novikov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Volgograd's Yuriy Lokotchenko got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 22 played minutes Kyzyl got a freekick which was hit by Lev Abramchikov. Timur Vasyutskiy kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Rudolf Novikov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yuriy Lokotchenko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ilya Hozyainov fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kyzyl's protests and gave Ilya Hozyainov a yellow card for diving instead. Ilya Hozyainov hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Ilya Hozyainov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yuriy Lokotchenko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 34 minutes, Kliment Izmailov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Volgograd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kliment Izmailov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yuriy Lokotchenko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudolf Novikov having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Yuriy Lokotchenko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Volgograd's supporters rose to their feet, but Yuriy Lokotchenko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rudolf Novikov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kliment Izmailov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Yuriy Lokotchenko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kliment Izmailov to make the kick off. Yuriy Lokotchenko who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Rudolf Novikov when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Yuriy Lokotchenko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yuriy Lokotchenko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudolf Novikov having to interfere. Kyzyl's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kliment Izmailov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 78th minute Kliment Izmailov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rudolf Novikov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Kyzyl getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Timur Vasyutskiy hit a great ball. In the 81st minute, Boris Shatalov fired a really elegant long shot, but Rudolf Novikov threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Yuriy Lokotchenko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Rudolf Novikov made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Kliment Izmailov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rudolf Novikov was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. If Kliment Izmailov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yuriy Lokotchenko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Rudolf Novikov made a huge save. Volgograd's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
