Nefteyugansk's Maksim Ryabin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albert Domanskiy in the 3rd minute of play. Oleg Selivanov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Roman Kosatyh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oleg Selivanov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aleksandr Kuvshinnikov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roman Kosatyh didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 18th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Petrozavodsk's Roman Kosatyh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Petrozavodsk from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Gennadiy Kabanov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nefteyugansk's supporters rose to their feet, but Gennadiy Kabanov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roman Kosatyh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oleg Selivanov in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roman Kosatyh prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Roman Kosatyh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oleg Selivanov in the 30th minute of the match. If Oleg Selivanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot by Demid Elovikov from long distance, 45 minutes into the match, got Roman Kosatyh's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Oleg Selivanov in the 73rd minute of play forced Petrozavodsk's goalkeeper Roman Kosatyh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute, Gennadiy Kabanov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roman Kosatyh was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Gennadiy Kazachenok received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Roman Kosatyh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Oleg Selivanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. In the 87thth minute of the game Oleg Selivanov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Petrozavodsk's Roman Kosatyh was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gennadiy Kabanov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 95 minutes into the match, Oleg Selivanov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roman Kosatyh. Petrozavodsk's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oleg Selivanov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Nefteyugansk had played much better football throughout.
