In the 26th minute Fabian Brytan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Ove Frykberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Viviano Baños who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Tim Weller when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Roman Mamatov took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sven-Ove Frykberg. Sven-Ove Frykberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pavel Ivashin was the one to do the kick off.
