After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Petruț Vaştag managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brascu's supporters rose to their feet, but Petruț Vaştag was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Costică Cucu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Leibesübungen Wolfsburg's Dinu Buceceanu got a free kick in the 15th minute. Brascu's Petruț Vaştag got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Costică Cucu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Petruț Vaştag's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brascu's goalkeeper Cazimir Bodnar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Matei Arapașu hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 38 minutes into the game, Brascu's Cătălin Ţopescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Costică Cucu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 44 played minutes Brascu got a freekick which was hit by Mugur Dășanu. Radu Boboc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Petruț Vaştag stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Radu Boboc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cazimir Bodnar having to interfere. Costică Cucu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brascu. Fabian Hudiță kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Mugur Băncilă's late challenge caught a Brascu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. One of Leibesübungen Wolfsburg:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Brascu:s goal. Costică Cucu had in the 91stth minute some difficulties stopping Vali Târlea's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 92 minutes of play Leibesübungen Wolfsburg's Mugur Băncilă was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Mugur Băncilă kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. A beautiful save bye Leibesübungen Wolfsburg's goalie prevented a goal. In the 98th minute, Aurel Gruia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brascu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. When the referee ended the match the Brascu players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
