Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Radu Bianu to make the kick off. After having played for 55 minutes, Francisc Agrigoroaiei managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Rapid Braila's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisc Agrigoroaiei was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ferdinand Prelipceanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Virgil Drăgan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virgil Drăgan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Francisc Agrigoroaiei's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. The supporters of FC Rapid Braila booed when Conduratul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisc Gherguț didn't get a good kick on the ball. Francisc Agrigoroaiei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Drăgan having to interfere. If Ferdinand Prelipceanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisc Agrigoroaiei struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Virgil Drăgan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Rapid Braila. Cristinel Băieșu charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristinel Băieșu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience was convinced that Ferdinand Prelipceanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Virgil Drăgan was relentless in the 98th minute of the game.
