Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Lucian Caranică made the kick off which started today's match. Lucrețiu Covrig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Ovidiu Pădureanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lucrețiu Covrig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Ripensia Timisoara getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Lucrețiu Covrig hit a great ball. After 17 minutes, Denis Bratu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ripensia Timisoara and the Leosti players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ripensia Timisoara's Denis Bratu got a free kick in the 17th minute. Moise Iuga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovidiu Pădureanu having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Ripensia Timisoara's Moise Iuga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ovidiu Pădureanu. That made the score 1-0 after 24 minutes of play. Ovidiu Pădureanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moise Iuga in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute, one of Ripensia Timisoara:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ripensia Timisoara. The referee gave Leosti a penalty, 30 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Vlad Tufescu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ripensia Timisoara's Corneliu Stoiciu. 1-1. 36 minutes into the game, Lucrețiu Covrig cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Ovidiu Pădureanu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 39 minutes, Lucrețiu Covrig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ripensia Timisoara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucrețiu Covrig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 40th minute, Ripensia Timisoara's Iustinian Avădanei dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. Lucrețiu Covrig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lucrețiu Covrig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovidiu Pădureanu having to interfere. Iustinian Avădanei's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ovidiu Pădureanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Moise Iuga was the one to do the kick off. Lucian Caranică struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Corneliu Stoiciu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leosti. A hard shot by Iurie Burnei from long distance, 53 minutes into the match, got Corneliu Stoiciu's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Moise Iuga might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ovidiu Pădureanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Moise Iuga ran back to his position shaking his head. Corneliu Stoiciu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucian Caranică in the 56th minute of the match. Ovidiu Pădureanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moise Iuga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ripensia Timisoara's Lucrețiu Covrig got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Moise Iuga might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ovidiu Pădureanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Moise Iuga ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 65thth minute of the game Iustinian Avădanei who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leosti's Ovidiu Pădureanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Lucian Caranică fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Leosti's protests and gave Lucian Caranică a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ripensia Timisoara booed when Leosti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucian Caranică didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iustinian Avădanei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Ovidiu Pădureanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ripensia Timisoara's Iustinian Avădanei got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ovidiu Pădureanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucrețiu Covrig, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Leosti's Iurie Burnei pulled a muscle in his leg after 80 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Moise Iuga charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Moise Iuga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vasile Spânu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ovidiu Pădureanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucrețiu Covrig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
