In the 12th match minute, Tocileni CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petrică Vătavu to maneuver through the defense. Nistor Zbora recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Aron Comarnescu fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tocileni CF's protests and gave Aron Comarnescu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Tocileni CF getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Aron Comarnescu hit a great ball. Tocileni CF's Eliodor Balaban played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ionuț Târlea in the 19th minute of play. When Nistor Zbora fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored steaua fc's protests and gave Nistor Zbora a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th match minute, steaua fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nistor Zbora to maneuver through the defense. Mugur Pistol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Eliodor Balaban tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eliodor Hidișan made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Grigore Stăniloaie sent off a good shot on target. Ionuț Târlea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliodor Balaban having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mugur Pistol in the 44th minute of play forced Tocileni CF's goalkeeper Eliodor Balaban to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eliodor Balaban took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mugur Pistol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Petrică Vătavu to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Tocileni CF's goalkeeper Eliodor Balaban had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mugur Pistol. A collision led to steaua fc getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Nechifor Gurzău hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, Tocileni CF's goal looked a bit too open when Ionuț Târlea came free, but Eliodor Balaban reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mugur Pistol took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eliodor Balaban. Eliodor Balaban dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 71 minutes into the game, Costică Iuzbașa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tocileni CF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave steaua fc the free kick. In the 71st match minute, Tocileni CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Costică Iuzbașa to maneuver through the defense. Eliodor Hidișan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grigore Stăniloaie in the 74th minute of play. Aron Comarnescu hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute, Grigore Stăniloaie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nistor Zbora hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Tocileni CF's Eliodor Balaban proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Tocileni CF from getting a goal against them. Aron Comarnescu hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. When the match was over steaua fc could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tocileni CF throughout the match.
