With a little luck, Arsenal's Sorin Sandu got control of the ball when Valer Dobrescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Emil Ghețea's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sorin Sandu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Arsenal's Sorin Sandu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aron Scorţea in the 11th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Florica FC's zone, Niculae Târcă stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nichifor Hizo came out of the goal and Niculae Târcă tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dorel Ghizdeanu kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Nicu Hrușcă kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Emil Ghețea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arsenal's Niculae Târcă got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Emil Ghețea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute Gavril Lăceanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nichifor Hizo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute, Florica FC's Emil Ghețea dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Emil Ghețea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Sorin Sandu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valer Dobrescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicu Hrușcă kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After having played for 45 minutes, Valer Dobrescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Florica FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valer Dobrescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nicu Hrușcă hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Niculae Târcă was the one to do the kick off. Florica FC's Mugur Boerescu got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Gavril Lăceanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arsenal's supporters rose to their feet, but Gavril Lăceanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nichifor Hizo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Arsenal's Nicu Hrușcă got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Sorin Sandu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emil Ghețea in the 82nd minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Valer Dobrescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sorin Sandu. Arsenal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valer Dobrescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 92nd minute, Mugur Boerescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Niculae Târcă kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nichifor Hizo. That made the score 2-1 in the 93 minute of play.
