Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Manole Gherguț started the match with the kick off. Adrian Agrigoroaiei's late challenge caught a PETROLUL PLOIESTI's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adrian Agrigoroaiei helped the player get up and apologised. After 5 played minutes Cringurile got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Agrigoroaiei. PETROLUL PLOIESTI's Andrei Feroiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gigel Popârcea in the 7th minute of play. Andrei Feroiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorin Şuţu in the 9th minute of play. The supporters of PETROLUL PLOIESTI booed when Cringurile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Lamru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manole Gherguț's shot from long distance in the 14th minute was not bad at all, but Cringurile's Emil Bratoloveanu knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. In the 15th minute, Eric Șerbulescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cringurile's defense didn't have a chance, in the 18th minute, when Manole Gherguț scored to the left of an out of position Emil Bratoloveanu, making the score, 1-0. After 34 minutes of play, PETROLUL PLOIESTI's Manole Gherguț made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emil Bratoloveanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Andrei Feroiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gigel Popârcea in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 45th minute Gigel Popârcea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrei Feroiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Manole Gherguț had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Andrei Feroiu was out of position in the 56 minute of play, and Gigel Popârcea capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gigel Popârcea really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. Dorin Şuţu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Andrei Feroiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dorin Şuţu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrei Feroiu having to interfere. Eric Șerbulescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manole Gherguț in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emil Bratoloveanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Manole Gherguț placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Andrei Feroiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gigel Popârcea in the 73rd minute of play. PETROLUL PLOIESTI's Andrei Feroiu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save PETROLUL PLOIESTI from getting a goal against them. Manole Gherguț sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The PETROLUL PLOIESTI fans' excitement grew in the 86th match minute when PETROLUL PLOIESTI's Manole Gherguț looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. PETROLUL PLOIESTI's Manole Gherguț got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Manole Gherguț's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emil Bratoloveanu was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. Emil Bratoloveanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manole Gherguț's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manole Gherguț in the 101st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emil Bratoloveanu saved Cringurile from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. PETROLUL PLOIESTI had won after a very even match.
