Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Nae Tomoiu took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a defensive mix-up in PHOENIX BUCURESTI's zone, Iustinian Buceceanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgil Cândrea came out of the goal and Iustinian Buceceanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Manole Gherguțs short, quick shot in the 4thth minute got Virgil Cândrea to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, PHOENIX BUCURESTI's Olaf Fabiszak got a free kick in the 5th minute. Iustinian Buceceanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Virgil Cândrea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iustinian Buceceanu ran back to his position shaking his head. If Nae Tomoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Leonard Pânzaru fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PETROLUL PLOIESTI's protests and gave Leonard Pânzaru a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, PETROLUL PLOIESTI's Leonard Pânzaru got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind PHOENIX BUCURESTI's goalkeeper Virgil Cândrea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Costică Ţugui recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 35 minutes of play PETROLUL PLOIESTI's Leonard Pânzaru was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, PETROLUL PLOIESTI's Leonard Pânzaru got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute of the game Codruț Joja made a throw-in which Dacian Coidum played forward. Aron Maniu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Virgil Cândrea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manole Gherguț was the one to do the kick off. Nae Tomoiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manole Gherguț in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Virgil Cândrea saved PHOENIX BUCURESTI from getting behind. In the 58thth minute of the game Manole Gherguț who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PHOENIX BUCURESTI's Virgil Cândrea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Iustinian Buceceanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Virgil Cândrea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iustinian Buceceanu ran back to his position shaking his head. When Manole Gherguț came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the PETROLUL PLOIESTI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manole Gherguț couldn't finish the play. PETROLUL PLOIESTI's defense didn't have a chance, in the 68th minute, when Costică Ţugui scored to the left of an out of position Andrei Feroiu, making the score, 0-3. 74 minutes into the game, Nae Tomoiu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Andrei Feroiu. Nae Tomoiu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Filip Coporan hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Virgil Cândrea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manole Gherguț in the 83rd minute of play. PETROLUL PLOIESTI's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Șerban Brânzeu scored to the left of an out of position Andrei Feroiu, making the score, 0-5. After a rather tough play, PETROLUL PLOIESTI's Panait Enișteanu got a free kick in the 95th minute. Andrei Feroiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Costică Ţugui, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
