Radu Cocârlă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Sandu Lelescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 8 minutes, Costică Lobonț mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Murta and the FC BOTOSANI players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of FC BOTOSANI booed when Murta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Costică Lobonț didn't get a good kick on the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Murta's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Reznic came free, but George Ignea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paul Câmpeanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but George Ignea made a huge save. In the 12th minute Sandu Lelescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Ignea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute Sandu Lelescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Ignea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 28th minute by Paul Câmpeanu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 29th minute, Paul Câmpeanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as FC BOTOSANI's Sandu Lelescu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of George Ignea. That made the score 1-0 after 30 minutes of play. If Paul Câmpeanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sandu Lelescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36thth minute of the game Sandu Lelescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Murta's George Ignea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paul Câmpeanu got free with George Ignea in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. George Ignea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandu Lelescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 41 minutes into the game, Vlad Schiau was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Murta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC BOTOSANI the free kick. In the 41st match minute, Murta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vlad Schiau to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tudor Pascaru to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Tudor Pascaru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sandu Lelescu kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After 58 minutes, Sandu Lelescu made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Murta's George Ignea tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Leonard Oanță managed to get in a good position for a shot. Murta's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonard Oanță was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Radu Cocârlă breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. George Ignea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paul Câmpeanu in the 64th minute of play. Radu Cocârlă came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Murta's Tudor Pascaru. But to his dismay, Tudor Pascaru quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Paul Câmpeanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Costică Lobonț got his second yellow card in the match during the 73rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Murta getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Costică Lobonț hit a great ball. David Bratu's late challenge caught a FC BOTOSANI's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Bratu helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Murta's David Bratu got a free kick in the 76th minute. After some careless play in the Murta defense, Paul Câmpeanu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of George Ignea. The Murta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that George Ignea should have stopped the shot. After 80 played minutes FC BOTOSANI got a freekick which was hit by Emilian Plopșor. Paul Câmpeanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Ignea having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC BOTOSANI fans cheered their team off the field, for while Murta had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
