The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Constantin Encica kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Maxim Săvoiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Călin Bălțăteanu fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mesteacanu FC's protests and gave Călin Bălțăteanu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Mesteacanu FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Călin Bălțăteanu hit a great ball. If Maxim Săvoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Irinel Volosin during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 15th minute, Irinel Volosin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eliodor Sterescu came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Solomonesti SC's Maxim Săvoiu. But to his dismay, Maxim Săvoiu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Constantin Encica during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cazimir Pogea in the 24th minute of play forced Mesteacanu FC's goalkeeper Eliodor Sterescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Mesteacanu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Maxim Săvoiu came free, but Eliodor Sterescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alexandru Ciocan to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Alexandru Ciocan notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Solomonesti SC's Francisc Holban. Francisc Holban was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 56th minute Alexandru Ciocan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisc Holban saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by George Domuță during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 59th minute of the game. One of Mesteacanu FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Solomonesti SC:s goal. In the 61st minute there was a penalty for Solomonesti SC. Nicolae Zbughină stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Eliodor Sterescu. 1-2. Maxim Săvoiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Eliodor Sterescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Mesteacanu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Maxim Săvoiu came free, but Eliodor Sterescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eliodor Sterescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maxim Săvoiu in the 74th minute of play. When Alexandru Ciocan came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Mesteacanu FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandru Ciocan couldn't finish the play. Francisc Holban didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alexandru Ciocan went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Mesteacanu FC's Eliodor Sterescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Mesteacanu FC from getting a goal against them. Francisc Holban took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandru Ciocan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th minute, Cazimir Pogea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eliodor Sterescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. If Cazimir Pogea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Mesteacanu FC defense, Cazimir Pogea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eliodor Sterescu. The Mesteacanu FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eliodor Sterescu should have stopped the shot. Solomonesti SC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
