An unexpectedly hard shot by Marin Corbea in the 18th minute of play forced Mesteacanu FC's goalkeeper Eliodor Sterescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the game, Ionică Neculce was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mesteacanu FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caramurat CS the free kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emanuel Dinulescu got free with Eliodor Sterescu in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Caramurat CS's Emanuel Dinulescu got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Călin Bălțăteanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 35 played minutes Mesteacanu FC got a freekick which was hit by Robert Piersic. After a rather tough play, Caramurat CS's Dorin Istrăteanu got a free kick in the 41st minute. After 41 played minutes, Mesteacanu FC's Robert Piersic shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Iordache Hăulică came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mesteacanu FC reached it. Călin Bălțăteanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iordache Hăulică having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Caramurat CS's Dorin Istrăteanu got a free kick in the 45th minute. When Mesteacanu FC's Călin Bălțăteanu in the 48th minute got a chance for a shot 48th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Caramurat CS's goalie prevented a goal.

If Călin Bălțăteanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, Mesteacanu FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
