Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Grigore Zegreanu started the match with the kick off. Grigore Zegreanu took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gigi Cozac. Gigi Cozac dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Balaciu's Gigi Cozac played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grigore Zegreanu in the 8th minute of play. After having played for 10 minutes, Grigore Zegreanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Petrolul Ploiesti 1924's supporters crossed their fingers, but Grigore Zegreanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bogdan Udurbac hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Gigi Cozac came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Petrolul Ploiesti 1924's Emanuel Vintilă. But to his dismay, Emanuel Vintilă quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After 20 played minutes Balaciu got a freekick which was hit by Iosif Iovan. 23 minutes into the match, Balaciu's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Vintilă came free, but Gigi Cozac reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Balaciu's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Silviu Miclescu was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Petrolul Ploiesti 1924's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on FC Petrolul Ploiesti 1924's corner Silviu Miclescu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gigi Cozac quite easily take care of the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Balaciu's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Vintilă came free, but Gigi Cozac reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cezar Golumbean's late challenge caught a FC Petrolul Ploiesti 1924's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cezar Golumbean helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Balaciu's Cezar Golumbean got a free kick in the 26th minute. A hard shot by Horea Stroici from long distance, 29 minutes into the match, got Ivan Billvall's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Claudiu Covaliu hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, FC Petrolul Ploiesti 1924's Matei Ferent got a free kick in the 34th minute. Balaciu's Gigi Cozac played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grigore Zegreanu in the 38th minute of play. FC Petrolul Ploiesti 1924's Ivan Billvall proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save FC Petrolul Ploiesti 1924 from getting a goal against them. If Grigore Zegreanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Claudiu Covaliu was shown his second yellow card after 43 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Balaciu getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Claudiu Covaliu hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bogdan Udurbac to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Bogdan Udurbac's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ivan Billvall was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Mircea Barbonța's late challenge caught a FC Petrolul Ploiesti 1924's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mircea Barbonța helped the player get up and apologised. Mircea Barbonța hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Gigi Cozac made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emanuel Vintilă in the 69th minute. Cezar Golumbean kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Emanuel Vintilă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gigi Cozac stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Grigore Zegreanu's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Bogdan Udurbac recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Grigore Zegreanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Gigi Cozac tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th match minute, Balaciu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mircea Barbonța to maneuver through the defense. FC Petrolul Ploiesti 1924's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
