The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vasile Gheban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mugur Pășcuțoiu hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Marcu Dorlea took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valer Corlățean. Valer Corlățean dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Răzvan Zubaşcu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rareș Răchiteanu in the 13th minute. Vasile Gheban recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rareș Răchiteanu got free with Răzvan Zubaşcu in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 20 minutes, Vasile Gheban managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. STEAUA BUCURESTI's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vasile Gheban was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot 30 in the game by Rareș Mihădaș from a close distance when the talented Răzvan Zubaşcu managed to make a qualified save. Motiori FC's players were relieved. In the 40th minute, Rareș Răchiteanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 41st minute, STEAUA BUCURESTI's Rareș Mihădaș dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Emilian Călinescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Răzvan Zubaşcu made a huge save. STEAUA BUCURESTI's Rareș Mihădaș suffered a sore foot after 46 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Dan Ogășanu charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dan Ogășanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. STEAUA BUCURESTI's Ilie Hobjilă was substituted for Rareș Mihădaș. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcu Dorlea made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Motiori FC's Marcu Dorlea slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Valer Corlățean. That made the score 1-2 after 52 minutes of play. Răzvan Zubaşcu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vasile Gheban in the 55th minute of the match. The supporters of STEAUA BUCURESTI booed when Motiori FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dan Ogășanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Răzvan Zubaşcu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rareș Răchiteanu in the 57th minute of play. When the match clock showed 62 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Rareș Răchiteanu sped through Motiori FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Răzvan Zubaşcu. When STEAUA BUCURESTI's Rareș Răchiteanu in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ilie Hobjilă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Răzvan Zubaşcu having to interfere. Vasile Gheban received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Răzvan Zubaşcu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Emilian Călinescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ilie Hobjilă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
