Valer Corlățean tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Capotestii's Iacob Logofătu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vasile Gheban in the 4th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Capotestii's Edgar Jitaru got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Capotestii's goalkeeper Iacob Logofătu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vasile Gheban blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iacob Logofătu having to make a save. After 10 minutes of play, STEAUA BUCURESTI's Rareș Mihădaș made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iacob Logofătu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Emilian Călinescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iacob Logofătu having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Vasile Gheban put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Iacob Logofătu. Vlad Bădila hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. The long shot by Eusebiu Cluceru in the 25th minute really tested Valer Corlățean's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After 26 minutes of play, Capotestii's Rareș Arnăutu made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valer Corlățean was left in no man's land by his defense there! Iacob Logofătu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vasile Gheban in the 31st minute of play. Petrică Alecu hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute, Rareș Răchiteanu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The STEAUA BUCURESTI fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Rareș Răchiteanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iacob Logofătu having to interfere. In the 38th minute Rareș Mihădaș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Logofătu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rareș Răchiteanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iacob Logofătu having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rareș Arnăutu was the one to do the kick off. Capotestii's Iacob Logofătu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vasile Gheban in the 55th minute of play. Iacob Logofătu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vasile Gheban, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Capotestii's zone, Rareș Răchiteanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iacob Logofătu came out of the goal and Rareș Răchiteanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 59 minutes into the match, STEAUA BUCURESTI's Rareș Mihădaș sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Iacob Logofătu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 68th minute, Rareș Răchiteanu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Iacob Logofătu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. When Rareș Mihădaș came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the STEAUA BUCURESTI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rareș Mihădaș couldn't finish the play. In the 76th minute Rareș Mihădaș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Logofătu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 78th minute of the game Eusebiu Cluceru made a throw-in which Petrică Alecu played forward. Valer Corlățean took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilian Mercea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vasile Gheban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emilian Călinescu in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Iacob Logofătu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Valer Corlățean showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rareș Arnăutu in the 85th minute of the match. Iacob Logofătu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vasile Gheban's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. An unexpected shot in the 87th minute by Rareș Răchiteanu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Alin Caramarin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valer Corlățean having to interfere. Iacob Logofătu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rareș Răchiteanu went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-6 was the resulting score.
