Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Cornel Pârvulescu in the 45th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Lucacevat SC's Ilie Ganea. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ion Tarcea was the one to do the kick off. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciprian Bălan in the 54th minute of play forced STEAUA's goalkeeper Ion Aldulea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th minute of the match Petrică Maghear shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edgar Babeș showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. STEAUA's Ion Aldulea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciprian Bălan in the 58th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ilie Ganea got free with Ion Aldulea in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Avram Măliță fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Babeș having to interfere. After some careless play in the STEAUA defense, Ilie Ganea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ion Aldulea. The STEAUA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ion Aldulea should have stopped the shot. Ilie Ganea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Ion Aldulea made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ion Tarcea in the 83rd minute of play forced Lucacevat SC's goalkeeper Edgar Babeș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 played minutes Lucacevat SC got a freekick which was hit by Augustin Andreescu.
