Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Eduard Vochin got the match started through his kick off. After a rather tough play, STEAUA's Ovidiu Tăgorean got a free kick in the 3rd minute. After having played for 5 minutes, Ion Tarcea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. STEAUA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ion Tarcea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 8th match minute, Naeni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mihai Ignătescu to maneuver through the defense. Ion Tarcea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Costel Miclovan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Avram Măliță came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the STEAUA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Avram Măliță couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cezar Drăghincescu during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petruț Nițulescu got free with Ion Aldulea in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Costel Miclovan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ion Tarcea, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. With a little luck, STEAUA's Ion Aldulea got control of the ball when Petruț Nițulescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ion Aldulea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduard Vochin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ion Tarcea in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Costel Miclovan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eduard Vochin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ion Aldulea came out and tried to block the shot, but Eduard Vochin slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 43rd minute. 47 minutes into the match, Naeni's goal looked a bit too open when Ion Tarcea came free, but Costel Miclovan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
In the 52nd match minute, STEAUA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petrică Maghear to maneuver through the defense. When Ion Tarcea came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the STEAUA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ion Tarcea couldn't finish the play. When Ion Tarcea, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 68 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Costel Miclovan was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 70th minute, Valentin Iftode hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ion Tarcea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costel Miclovan having to interfere. In the 77th minute, STEAUA's Ion Tarcea ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Costel Miclovan. Costel Miclovan yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. The supporters of Naeni booed when STEAUA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Avram Măliță didn't get a good kick on the ball. Avram Măliță charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Avram Măliță the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Costel Miclovan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ion Tarcea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute of the match, Ion Tarcea tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Costel Miclovan saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
