Haieu CSM's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Åke Sjögren was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Teodor Vlaicu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC.Dierna's supporters rose to their feet, but Teodor Vlaicu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristian Mănescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Claudiu Contra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ovidiu Păvăloae's late challenge caught a Haieu CSM's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ovidiu Păvăloae helped the player get up and apologised. Ovidiu Păvăloae hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After 21 minutes, Valentin Nicoliță mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Haieu CSM and the FC.Dierna players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 21 played minutes Haieu CSM got a freekick which was hit by Valentin Nicoliță. After a defensive mix-up in Haieu CSM's zone, Valentin Cotoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristian Mănescu came out of the goal and Valentin Cotoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Valentin Cotoi came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the FC.Dierna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valentin Cotoi couldn't finish the play. When Åke Sjögren fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC.Dierna's protests and gave Åke Sjögren a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC.Dierna getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Åke Sjögren hit a great ball. In the 34th minute, FC.Dierna's Teodor Vlaicu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cristian Mănescu. Cristian Mănescu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Haieu CSM's goalkeeper Cristian Mănescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 40th minute, Haieu CSM's Pompiliu Cerghizan seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Pompiliu Cerghizan the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Haieu CSM protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Pompiliu Cerghizan had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of FC.Dierna booed when Haieu CSM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pompiliu Cerghizan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Haieu CSM's Cristian Mănescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Haieu CSM from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodor Vlaicu in the 45th minute of play forced Haieu CSM's goalkeeper Cristian Mănescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
In the 53rd minute of the match FC.Dierna got a corner. Haieu CSM's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dorin Enceanu ran over to the corner to take the kick. Dorin Enceanu made a great header on FC.Dierna's corner, it was just that Haieu CSM's Cristian Mănescu managed to reach the ball for a save. FC.Dierna's Teodor Vlaicu got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Haieu CSM's Cristian Mănescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Åke Sjögren in the 57th minute of play. In the 63rd minute Ovidiu Păvăloae shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Mănescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Codrin Groza got free with Ovidiu Rădescu in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Åke Sjögren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the match, Haieu CSM's goal looked a bit too open when Alin Smarandache came free, but Cristian Mănescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th minute there was a penalty for FC.Dierna. Dorin Enceanu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cristian Mănescu. 4-1. 81 minutes into the match, Haieu CSM's goal looked a bit too open when Alin Smarandache came free, but Cristian Mănescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Alin Smarandache had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cristian Mănescu. Haieu CSM's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alin Smarandache was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. The audience was convinced that Alin Smarandache's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristian Mănescu was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Cristian Mănescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Åke Sjögren, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Cristi Cangeopol kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alin Smarandache in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristian Mănescu saved Haieu CSM from getting behind. Haieu CSM's Cristian Mănescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octav Bocșan in the 95th minute of play. There was no doubt that FC.Dierna were the better team. FC.Dierna's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
